Children love the customized matching card game created with digital photos.

With the ease of taking digital photos, it’s likely that you have hundreds (maybe even thousands) of great family pictures. If you’ve got young children at home or on your gift-giving list, then you can take some of those fun and memorable digital photos and turn them into a personalized matching pairs card game.

The great thing about digital photos is that it’s easy and inexpensive to print multiple copies, whether you use your own digital photo printer, or order extra prints from your favorite online digital processing center to create duplicates of your favorite digital images.

Digital photo matching card game For this digital photo game project, you will need two copies of each digital photo. Choose a theme – pets, holidays, birthdays, family – or just have a random selection. Even abstract shapes or cutouts are fine, just glue them on to same sized cardboard backing.

The matching card game can be used to play snap, pair-matching or a memory game, where all the digital photo cards are turned face down and two or more players take turns to turn two face up. If they match, the player keeps them and has another turn. If they don’t, the photo cards must be turned face down again, and the players try to remember the positions. The winner is the player with the most pairs at the end of the game.

If you’re giving the matching card game as a gift, print out the rules of play and include them with the matching game cards in a nicely decorated box.
