Create a Photo Collage

Not sure what to do with all the extra digital photos … create a photo collage. The great thing about digital cameras is that you can take digital photos of everything. And if you’re like most people, you’ve probably printed extra photos that you haven’t given away. Or, have some great digital photos, still on the computer, but not sure how to display all of them.

The Bigger, the Better

Create a big collage of the digital images. Buy the biggest picture frame you can find, fill it up, and put all your wonderful digital photos on display. Your photo collage creation will also make a unique photo gift that any grandparent would be happy to receive.

Look through the digital images, and you’ll start to see family themes: vacations, birthdays, sports, major events, family-trees, school days, and so much more. Pick your theme, gather the photos together, and start to create your photo collage.

Play around with various photo combinations, trimming pictures or cutting the photos into unique shapes. Arrange the photos on a large cardboard backing cut to the same size as your photo frame. Use a spray glue, glue stick, or double-sided tape to stick the photos to the backing. Be sure to overlap the photos so there isn’t any backing showing.

The result will be a fascinating, visual effect. The great thing with the photo collage is that it is a conversation piece on whatever wall it hangs, as everyone tries to remember when and where each of the digital photos was taken.

Or, do it Digitally

Now that everything has gone digital, it is also possible to create a digital photo collage, right on the computer. With photo collage software, you can gather your digital photos together and use technology to help you create a one-of-a-kind family photo collage.
