Great digital photos with a stand-alone photo printer

Until recently, photo printers were computer accessories. To print a digital photo, you would have to do a photo download from your digital camera to your computer, use software to view and edit the digital photo, and then send it to your inkjet printer. But if you weren't near a computer, your digital prints would have to wait. Now the market has responded with stand alone photo printers.

A digital photo printer has the computer's photo-friendly features built in, and will have one or more slots for your digital camera's memory cards. The photo printers accept several popular memory cards.

The one drawback of printing your digital photos directly from your digital camera onto the photo printer is that photo inkjet printers have little or no digital photo editing capabilities. Some have small LCD screens that display your digital photos and minimal editing tools similar to those you would find on a medium-priced digital camera. Still, with the ability to print high quality 4 x 6 inch digital photos any time, anywhere, the digital photo printer is a nice additional piece of equipment for any digital photographer.
